Doctors Day at IMA Malda

Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy  was born on 1st July.Like rare great men this is also his death Anniversary.

Doctors all over India commemorate this day with various social and community health programs like

  • School health camp
  • Free Clinics
  • Free diagnostics
  • Food distribution for the needy
  • Blood donation camp
  • Felicitation of eminent doctors
  • Tree Plantation

What’s important to remember is Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy believed in patience and persistent action.His story if applying 30 times for a foreign medical college in Britain is famous .

He also was a big proponent of healthy doctors being the best for healing patients.

Besides being an exemplary doctor he was a politician too being the first chief minister of West Bengal after partition.

Wellbeing for  Doctors are a special research project.

He believed in high level of work ethics,personal responsibility and going the extra mile for social causes.

He believed healthy mothers and healthy children would propel the country towards a glowing future.

Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy, was also a big believer in social responsibility of Doctors.That’s the reason IMA Malda  is commemorating first July this year, with various community centric events,to mark the life of a truly great leader.

DOCTORS’ DAY CELEBRATION – IN A DIFFERENT MOOD at IMA MALDA


1st July 2025 – 143rd Birth Anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy

This year, we are pleased to present a unique and community-centered celebration of Doctors’ Day, with a day-long series of events, followed by an evening of Felicitation and Family Get Together.

PROGRAM DETAILS:

1. Garlanding Ceremony

8:30 AM: Gathering at IMA Bhavan, followed by a procession towards the statue of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy near Manoskamona Mandir.
9:00 AM: Garlanding of the statue of Dr. B.C. Roy.

The Chairman of English Bazar Municipality will grace the occasion with his presence.




2. Distribution of Educational Support Items

11:30 AM: Educational support items will be distributed to students of Park Ghat School, R.K. Mission Road.
Dr. Amitava Moitra and Dr. Nilratan Saha, our senior members, will be present to grace this occasion.

3. School Health Check-Up Camp

Immediately following the distribution, a health check-up camp will be held at the same school, Park Ghat.


4. Blood Donation Camp

4:00 PM onwards:
A Blood Donation Camp will be organized with Dr. Sudipta Bhaduri, CMOH, Malda, gracing the occasion.
Dr. Bhaduri will personally donate blood to encourage younger doctors to participate in this noble cause.
Senior members, including Dr. Malay Sarkar, Dr. Partha Dasgupta, and others, will also donate blood, setting a commendable example for all.

5. Felicitation Ceremony and Family Get Together
                       at
  IMA BHAVAN, MALDA
    7:00 PM onwards:

* Felicitation of Dr. Debnandan Mazumdar, the renowned senior surgeon of Malda.

* Inauguration of the Souvenir, MIMACON-25, & Doctors’ Day Celebration-25.
* NIKSHAY POSHAN YOJANA-
     Handing over the cheque and list of contributors to the CMOH  MALDA.
* Family Get Together & Networking – A chance for members and their families to interact and bond.
