I love my tea, coffee, chai chat sessions. In Delhi, Kolkata wherever I travel, I love visiting quaint coffee shops and restaurants, which are off the beaten path. With Geethica’s book in hand, I will never again worry, when it comes to Delhi. This is where Geethica Mehra’s book is gold, for the new and frequent Delhi traveler or Dilli local. You can download the book and go. Check your budget, location, and plan. Find the place on the Google map (they included it in the book) and you are spared hours of irritations searching everywhere.
With this book, you know you will get money worth.
While coffee shops rarely have unique menus, her extensive coffee date experiences open up Delhi’s coffee nooks to the uninitiated. Whether it’s for a family wanting budget options or a typical date, this book won’t disappoint. I adored her story about the birthday party celebrations, at a diner cum coffee shop.
What stands out?
The storytelling makes this travel down Delhi’s bylanes interesting. That’s where you find the charm of this book. Honest free-flowing writing makes for an easy read. The authors love for coffee and memories of time spent with her hubby on dates, was romantic.
What I will look forward to?
- A sectional approach to organizing the cafes.
- Maybe a picture of Geethica with a steaming cup of coffee in one of the locations on the cover.
- I missed what she ate at the Big yellow door and Zawadah. While her food choices may not help me choose but as a reader, I missed these details.
- A glossy high-end coffee table book, with pictures, limited edition type in the future from the author.
How will this book help you?
- How much money do you need to eat at the cafe?
- Whether it’s close to the metro station?
- Whether it has live music available?
- Will kids have books or games?
